Does Cerebro Scan work on both Mac and Windows?

Yes. Cerebro Scan works on Mac (macOS 10.15 and above) and Windows 10/11. It uses a different launcher for each platform — Apple.command for Mac and Windows.exe for Windows.

Do I need to install anything?

No. On Windows, Python is bundled directly on the USB stick — nothing is installed on the computer. On Mac, it uses the built-in Python. You just plug in and double-click the launcher.

Is Cerebro Scan safe to use?

Yes. Cerebro Scan is completely read-only. It reads hardware data and shows it in your browser. It never writes, modifies, deletes or changes anything on the computer it is plugged into.

Does my data get sent anywhere?

No. All diagnostics run locally on your own computer at http://127.0.0.1:7760. Nothing is transmitted, uploaded or shared with any third party.

What does Cerebro Scan show?

1. About Cerebro Scan

Cerebro Scan is a computer diagnostic tool supplied on a USB storage device ("the Product"), sold by Cerebro Scan ("we", "us", "our"), operating from the United Kingdom. By purchasing or using Cerebro Scan, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Product.

These Terms apply to all purchases made via cerebroscan.co.uk and to all use of the Cerebro Scan software contained on the USB device.

Cerebro Scan is not VAT registered. No VAT is charged on any purchases and VAT receipts cannot be provided.

When Cerebro Scan is used on a computer with an active internet connection, the software may send anonymous diagnostic telemetry to cerebroscan.co.uk. This includes the USB serial number, operating system type, and summary health metrics (CPU usage, RAM usage, ping). No personal files, documents, passwords, or identifying information are ever collected or transmitted. This telemetry is used solely to monitor product health and improve the software. 2. What Cerebro Scan Does

Cerebro Scan is a read-only diagnostic tool. When plugged into a computer, it runs a local web server on the user's own machine and displays hardware and software information in a browser-based dashboard. It reads data from the host computer's hardware and operating system and presents it for informational purposes only.

Cerebro Scan does not modify, delete, write to, or in any way alter any data, settings, files, or software on the host computer. It does not install any software on the host computer. When the USB stick is unplugged, no trace of Cerebro Scan remains on the host computer, except for any diagnostic report that the user has explicitly chosen to generate, which is saved to the USB stick itself and not to the host computer.

3. Licence to Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software contained on the Cerebro Scan USB stick for personal or professional diagnostic purposes. You may use the Product on any number of computers.

You may not: copy, reproduce, or redistribute the software; reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software; resell or sublicence the Product or the software; use the Product for any unlawful purpose; attempt to circumvent any security or licence verification measures.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

Cerebro Scan is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of the diagnostic information provided by the Product.

Diagnostic information provided by Cerebro Scan is for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional technical advice. We do not warrant that the Product will operate without interruption or error, that it will be compatible with every computer or operating system, or that any diagnostic findings will be correct or complete.

Some computers, particularly those with restricted corporate or institutional IT policies, may not support the full functionality of the Product. We cannot guarantee compatibility with all hardware and software configurations.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cerebro Scan and its owners, directors, employees and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Product or reliance on diagnostic information provided by it.

This includes but is not limited to: data loss, hardware failure, financial loss, business interruption, or any other damages resulting from use or inability to use the Product.

You use Cerebro Scan entirely at your own risk. Although we take every precaution to ensure the Product is safe and read-only, we accept no responsibility for any issues that arise from its use.

Our total liability to you, if any, shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the Product.

6. Returns and Refunds

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return the Product within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.

To request a return, visit cerebroscan.co.uk/returns and complete the return request form. You will need the serial number of your device, which is printed on the back of the tin the USB stick comes in, and also shown in the dashboard top-right corner. We will provide a prepaid returns label.

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 3–5 working days of receiving the returned item. The Product must be returned in its original condition. Returns are not accepted after 30 days from delivery.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, code, content, branding, logos, and materials associated with Cerebro Scan are the intellectual property of Cerebro Scan and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. All rights are reserved.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of Cerebro Scan without our prior written permission. The name "Cerebro Scan" and the Cerebro Scan logo are proprietary marks.

8. Privacy

Cerebro Scan runs entirely locally on your computer. The diagnostic software does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data about you or your computer to us or any third party.

The only external network requests made by the diagnostic software are: looking up your external IP address via ipwho.is (an anonymous API lookup), and connection tests to public servers (Google, Amazon, BBC, Cloudflare) for the ping test. No personal identifying information is included in these requests.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Product shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Product or website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
